organization - kids rooms

Closets

  • Include your Child

Having them partake in organizing their closet can help them become organized in other areas of their life. If you instill the practice at a young enough age, it is something they can bring with them ultimately into their life and career. Plus, participation will help to get them more involved every time you clean the closet.
  • Go to Their Level

Lowering yourself to their height, will allow you to gauge what items they are likely to use. If there are items you want to keep or store for later use, place them higher than their reach and vise versa..
  • Storage Items

Map out a way to organize the items. Use storage bins, boxes, bags, hang things on the wall, etc.
  • Practice Decision-Making

If you find yourself thinking about whether or not to keep an item for too long, you are merely wasting time. The process includes difficult decisions. Be honest with yourself in addressing if something is worth keeping, worth selling, or worth handing down/giving away to help someone else who may need it right now.
